GENERAL RULES
We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason.
Management expects exhibitors to enter classes truthfully to the
best of their knowledge. Management will not “police” beginning,
novice or maiden horse or rider entries HOWEVER if a letter of
complaint is written to Poormans Horse Shows, management will
contact the exhibitor for verification of eligibility of horse or
rider. Letters or emails that are not signed or do not state whom
they believe the offender is will be thrown away without action.
Sign letters will be kept confidential at the time of the
verification of eligibility & with all contact with said offender.
*No refunds on PRE-PAID scratched classes. Don't ask. Leave an open
check or credit card slip at the office and you may add and scratch
without paying for the scratched classes
* Day Fees are based on one horse/one rider combo. Additional riders
are charged the class fee.
*NO BABY CARRIAGES, CHILDREN, SPECTATORS OR DOGS IN THE WARM UP
ARENA/HOLDING PEN. Please go to the stands.
*High point awards are based on one horse/one rider combination
unless otherwise stated.
*Championship classes do not count towards any High Point Awards
Championship classes = 1st & 2nd in any qualifying class.
Championship classes are FREE!
*JUDGES AND MANAGEMENTS DECISIONS ARE FINAL
*Unruly or dangerous horses will be asked to leave.
*Bring a shovel or pitch fork to clean up your mess if you show out
of your trailer. Leave no mess behind
*Classes added or scratched must be done so in the office. Failure
to scratch in the office may result in your being charged for the
class
*10 & under riders HELMET REQUIRED. 10 & under riders can cross
enter into other walk/trot classes EXCEPT green horse and 13 &
under. 10 & under riders cannot cross entry with any canter classes
*Schooling equipment is allowed
*Show clothes are not required
*Stallion handlers MUST be 18 years or older
*Schooling is allowed BUT you must follow the class calls (walk,
trot, canter, etc...) ABSOLUTELY NO STOPPING AND BACKING ON THE
RAIL.
*Two hands are allowed on a shanked bit when riding western.
*Equipment must match the requirements of the class; ie: no western
saddles in an english class unless class is specifically open to
both disciplines
*Youth riders must wear a hat or helmet on their head
*No lunging in warm up arena when horses are being ridden.
*Depending on the size of the show, lunging & riding in the warm up
arena may be prohibited until after showmanship has been completed.
*Parents must receive permission for any child under the age of 10
to enter lope and/or canter classes NO EXCEPTION.
Unless otherwise noted, Equitation classes will have a pattern
Classes described at Eng/West means you can ride in English or
Western equipment. You may change disciplines anytime throughout the
day
*Green Horse = 1st & 2nd calender year of showing (Jan thru Dec)
