Please specify if you are with a trainer in your email or on your faxed entry.  The stall assignments may change periodically.  When a large group comes in it is sometimes necessary to move stalls around.  Be sure to check back right before you leave for the show so you have the most current information

>>**Class 101, In Hand is open to ALL who want to lead their horse thru for the practice. Horses may be saddled if desired. Only horses 2 & under will
be scored.

>>Office fee & haul in fee will apply to horses hauling in to ride Trail classes only but are not entered or planning to show at Saturdays show. If you do show on Saturday, you will not be charged a second office fee. Haul in fee is applicable to each day.
>>~Novice Horse = not to have won three first places at Poormans shows or any other show, not to include 4H. If you win three 1st during the series you may continue to ride Novice Horse to the end of the series.

POINTS:  1st = 7, 2nd = 5,  3rd = 4,  4th = 3, 5th = 2, 6th = 1  Regardless of the number of horses is classes.    Classes may be combined at management's discretion.  Ties to be broken with coin toss.

50 cent pieces INSTEAD of ribbons to 5 places.   
Placing plates can be bought.  If you buy a placing plate the plaques are free!

GENERAL RULES

No refunds on PRE-PAID scratched classes.  Don't ask.  Leave an open check or credit card slip at the office and you may add and scratch without paying for the scratched classes GENERAL RULES - APPLIES TO THE ENTIRE WEEKEND

We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason.

Management expects exhibitors to enter classes truthfully to the best of their knowledge. Management will not “police” beginning, novice or maiden horse or rider entries HOWEVER if a letter of complaint is written to Poormans Horse Shows, management will contact the exhibitor for verification of eligibility of horse or rider.  Letters or emails that are not signed or do not state whom they believe the offender is will be thrown away without action.  Sign letters will be kept confidential at the time of the verification of eligibility & with all contact with said offender

*Championship classes do not count towards any High Point Awards

Championship classes = 1st & 2nd in any qualifying class. Championship classes are FREE!

*JUDGES AND MANAGEMENTS DECISIONS ARE FINAL

*Unruly or dangerous horses will be asked to leave.

*Bring a shovel or pitch fork to clean up your mess if you show out of your trailer. Leave no mess behind

*Classes added or scratched must be done so in the office. Failure to scratch in the office may result in your being charged for the class

*10 & under riders HELMET REQUIRED. 10 & under riders can cross enter into other walk/trot classes EXCEPT beginning horse and 13 & under. 10 & under riders cannot cross entry with any canter classes

*Schooling equipment is allowed

*Show clothes are not required

*Cross entry between walk/trot & canter classes is allowed EXCEPT the 10 & under classes. *

*Stallion handlers MUST be 18 years or older

*Schooling is allowed BUT you must follow the class calls (walk, trot, canter, etc...) ABSOLUTELY NO STOPPING AND BACKING ON THE RAIL.

*Two hands are allowed on a shanked bit when riding western.

bullet

*Equipment must match the requirements of the class; ie: no western saddles in an english class unless class is specifically open to both disciplines

*Youth riders must wear a hat or helmet on their head

bullet

*No lunging in warm up arena when horses are being ridden.

bullet

*Depending on the size of the show, lunging & riding in the warm up arena may be prohibited until after showmanship has been completed.

*Parents must receive permission for any child under the age of 10 to enter lope and/or canter classes NO EXCEPTION.

Only Equitation classes notes as “~pattern” will have a pattern

Beginning Horse = 1st & 2nd calender year of showing (Jan thru Dec) anywhere; excluding 4H

bullet

Maiden Horse = Having not won 3 1st places in specific class at the beginning of the series. May ride that class the entire series

Novice Horse = 1st calender year of showing (Jan thru Dec) anywhere; excluding 4H

Warm Up Jackpot Classes
Pay $2 to enter at the gate ~ Class is not judged ~ Horses will be asked to walk & jog or trot ~ A  random drawing at the end of the class will determine the winner of the pot.  100% Payback
